Why it's different

Official practice gives you a score — not a plan.

You finish a practice ACT with a number and little else. The questions that matter: am I on pace for my target Composite, which section is costing me, and what do I fix next?

Analysis

See which section is costing you.

Your accuracy by section — English, Math, Reading and Science — turned into a practice estimate against the target you set, with the one area to work next.

Pace

The ACT is a speed test.

Less time per question than the SAT — pace is half the battle. Timed sets and full-length practice tests build the speed the ACT demands.

Honest

A practice estimate, shown as a range.

No pass line — you aim at the Composite your colleges want, and a calibrated range shows the gap. Thin data shows "calibrating," never a made-up score.

Built for the real ACT

The ACT isn't adaptive — so we practice it straight.

Unlike the digital SAT, the ACT is linear: everyone answers the same fixed set of questions, and the test doesn't get harder or easier as you go. Our practice tests reproduce that — full-length, real timing, in the section order you'll face — so test day plays out the way you practiced. The Composite is the average of English, Math and Reading; if you take the optional Science section it's reported separately.

FAQ

ACT prep, answered

What's on the ACT?
The current ACT has a three-section core — English, Math and Reading — with Science and the Writing essay now optional. The Composite score (1–36) is the average of English, Math and Reading; Science, if taken, is reported separately. See what's on the ACT →
Is the ACT adaptive like the digital SAT?
No. The ACT is linear, or fixed-form — everyone sees the same set of questions, and the difficulty does not adapt to how you're doing. That's a key difference from the digital SAT's adaptive modules.
What is a good ACT score?
It depends on your target colleges. The national average Composite is about 19; a 24 or higher is above average, 30+ is strong, and 34–36 is in range for the most selective schools. More on a good ACT score →
Should I take the ACT or the SAT?
Most colleges accept either and don't prefer one. The ACT is faster-paced with an optional Science section; the digital SAT is adaptive and shorter. Compare the ACT and SAT →
