UCLA does not use SAT or ACT scores for admission or scholarship review. The useful academic signals are grades, course rigor, performance in available advanced work and the context of the student's opportunities.

UCLA will not consider SAT or ACT scores for admission or scholarship purposes. Submitted scores can have limited use for eligibility or placement after enrollment, but they should not be turned into a UCLA admission target.

Replace the SAT question with a GPA-and-rigor question.

For Fall 2025, UCLA reported a 3.95-4.00 unweighted and 4.44-4.78 weighted GPA middle 50% among admitted first-year students. These figures are not cutoffs and reflect UC GPA definitions and a highly selected pool.

  1. Calculate the right GPA.Use the UC definitions and grades from the relevant college-preparatory courses instead of comparing a school transcript GPA with a different weighting system.
  2. Read the major profile.Admission rates and GPA patterns vary across Engineering, Nursing, Arts, Music and divisions in the College.
